This is a personal website. It is not a business, it does not sell anything, and it has no advertising. The short version is that it collects as little as it can get away with, and nothing it collects is sold or shared with advertisers.
What is collected
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which posts people actually read. Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless: it does not set tracking cookies, it does not build a cross-site profile of you, and it does not store an identifier that follows you between visits. What it records is coarse and aggregated, such as the page visited, the referring site, and general device and country information derived from the request.
Like every web server, the hosting platform keeps short-lived request logs that include IP addresses. These are operational records used to serve the site and diagnose problems, and they are handled by Vercel as the hosting provider.
What is not collected
There are no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics beyond the one described above, no comment system, no newsletter, and no account signup. The site has no contact form, so nothing you type is submitted anywhere. If you get in touch it is because you chose to send an email or a message on another platform, and that conversation lives in that inbox rather than on this site.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies of its own. Fonts are self-hosted and served from this domain at build time, so loading a page does not call out to a font provider.
Third parties
Pages are hosted by Vercel. Blog content and some images are managed in Sanity and images are served from the Sanity CDN, which means your browser requests those image files from Sanity when you view a post. Embedded links to LinkedIn, YouTube, GitHub, and Instagram are ordinary links: nothing is loaded from those services unless you click through, at which point their own privacy policies apply.
Automated clients and AI agents
Crawling is allowed and Markdown representations of every public page are served to clients that ask for them. Requests from agents are treated exactly like requests from browsers: the same analytics apply and nothing extra is recorded.
Your choices and contact
Because nothing here identifies you personally, there is no account to delete and no profile to export. Browser-level tracking protection and ad blockers will block the analytics script, and the site works fine without it. Questions about any of this can go to jreitz1984@me.com.
